Two hundred and fifty years ago, a few stubborn idealists decided they could do things their own way. We've been doing the same thing in Brooklyn since 2009 — so this one's our flag in the ground. The 1776 is our signature espresso, built to mark a quarter-millennium of American independence with a cup worthy of the occasion.

Expect a rich, full-bodied shot with deep notes of dark chocolate and toasted nuts, balanced by a smooth, lingering finish that never turns bitter. It pulls a gorgeous crema as straight espresso, but it's just as at home in a moka pot, a drip machine, or a French press for those who take it black and strong.

Roasted in small batches and here only for the anniversary year — once it's gone, it's gone.

  • Medium roast · Blend
  • Tasting notes: chocolate, toasted nut, balanced finish
  • Great for: espresso, moka pot, drip
  • Kosher · Roasted in Brooklyn, NY

Bolld smooth coffee

Coffee is more on the dark side of medium roast which is great for 12 oz cups of black coffee in the morning an afternoon iced latte and more black coffee in the evening or a hot cappuccino or hot latte. I love the chocolate notes because it pairs well with salted caramel or chocolate syrup and sauces for my afternoon iced coffee. Just ordered 6 more bags on the buy 12 get 3 bags free. Coffee is not bitter no matter how you brew it. Leaves s nice clean bold aftertaste on the tounge. This is one of the best espresso beans I have tried and should be made permanent.

1776 is a great blend.

Very good. Used in a cortado. I love tasting all of the different varieties that stone street offers.
