Stone Street continues to amaze me with its decaf offerings. I'm a huge fan of their European Fancy Decaf for hot brewing, and haven't been able to find a good decaf blend for cold brewing, until now. Wow!
Let me tell you, these bags came out of the box wafting delicious subtle coffee scent. I had an 8 cup jar ready for this adventure and used about a 4:1 ratio of water to coarsely ground coffee, which was 1.5 cups coffee to 6 cups of cold water. I left airspace to shake the sealed jar every few hours. Brewed for 12 hours, strained and added milk and sweetener to top off the jar. It was everything I wanted in a cold brew: rich medium roast, creamy and smooth. I plan to make the next batch with some roasted chickory granules to make a New Orleans style brew. I love this!
